| I've recently been challenged to make an effective elf BW melee priest. I know from my old crusader that healer/fighter hybrids are given an exellent staying power from mask casting BM so this shouldn't be too difficult a problem, except that my crapy HP wireless card fried so i wont have regular access to the internet to make him. If anyone wants to help i'd apprieciate it, and if its really good the build could even be Usefull as a Gids army GvG toon for group %heal and DPS combo. | |

| Hmmn after looking into it further i really need help, as every plan i've come up with for a viable melee BW priest seems to have a major fatal flaw. will have to admit being wrong soon* if u guys can't deliver. *Everyones bigest fear right after public speaking and death.

| Well i have a bad habit of bench creating toons. this is one ive never tried but now im interested. i think my best bet would be to create it like a deflar, granted this is all speculation but it sounds viable. it depends on how u want to play though. u can run dex for melee damage and defense. Or act like most buffbot preist and go all spirit. but with the powers a preist has a dex/int base would be a good choice. Priests get very good attack speed buff and a damage buff. like most elven toons the low con hurts. BAD. but if u can use the points at the beginning and get above 85con this shouldnt be a problem. You also have many heal spells to get you out of trouble. With Blade weaver u will get free dual weild and Id also add Undead hunter for the proc to help and this might not be a bad toon. | |

| Yup Dex/Int seems the way to go, and with the Stam heals and Def Buff con shouldn't be the thing to focus on. It's not an elf's strong point as you noted, and the points would be better spent improving Def, or the mana pool which will likely be scant; besides the plan as i understand it is to have a large effective health from blessed mending which is an insta-cast and comes back up instantly. Thanks for your input, its nice to see things moving forward and thanks Rot, I'm interested to see what you'll come up with, and remember, you too have helped to make this the most active thread on the forum! (A whole 4 replies including mine. XD) PS: Is it just mine or are no-ones sigs working?

| I just saw this thread now so I don't know if you are still looking for ideas. If you are here are my 2 cents.
I would go max con/int and take all con starting runes plus percise for atr help. In game I would take 35int rune and step con runes to a 35 if possible not 100% sure as I am just making this as I go but I am sure it would work pretty well.
by going con int you would still a decent atr on wpns and nice proc as well for added dmg. your heals would be fantastic with the high int also.
some people don't realize you can still get really good atr/defence/dmg by just going int and not going dex/str.
Thats just my idea hope it helps. | |
